STYLING YOUR NEXT PHOTOSHOOT WITH DOT STICKERS!

As a professional photographer, I’m always looking for ways to push the boundaries and to create truly special images for my clients. It’s important to me that each photo session I do is an absolute success, with creative images that capture the moment while also pushing both myself and my clients creatively. As any creative knows, coming up with inspiring new ideas can be challenging – however it is possible! Pushing my work forward constantly requires me to innovate and think outside the box in order to offer something different every time I take out my camera. With this in mind, I thought I’d share some insight into how I’m striving to stay creative with my photography—Like for instance, playing with stickers!

I wanted to create something truly special for my clients, a show-stopping setup that would reflect their vibrant brand.  I spent some time experimenting with color dots stickers and testing out self portraits so everything was perfect when they arrived – matching the look of our aesthetics as if it were made in heaven!

The setup consists of a  White Paper Seamless and  6 inch Dot Stickers4 inch Dot Stickers, 1 inch Dot Stickers in assorted colors. Even after covering my background with many stickers, I still had more than half of the stickers left. So you could put together several setups in different color palettes afterward.

You may think it took forever to put these stickers on the background, but it didn’t take longer than 10 minutes! the other “pro” of using this set up is that you can cut it, roll it and use it several times!

ALL THE
COLORS

Photographing one subject is a lot of fun, but photographing couples and groups is a challenge I love! There’s something magical about posing and balancing the frame that excites me! Now, when photographing more than one subjects in a background filled with color, you have to really pay attention to the colors and how they are playing with each other. In this case, all the colors together are an explosion of joy to my eyes!

Having worked with these clients previously, I knew they were going to bring lots of colorful outfits that were going to fit perfectly into the aesthetics of the background I created.

BLACK & WHITE.

So, what if colors are not your jam? Well, you can create the same set up using Black and White stickers, or you can even find them in muted, neutral colors!  The sky is the limit!

The pictures below were made using 1 inch Black Dot Stickers, 1 Inch White Stickers, 3 inch Black Dot Stickers, 3 inch White Stickers on a White seamless in the background and a Black seamless covering the table. You can additionally add stickers to the clothing for extra pizzazz!

As photographers, we can never stop learning, experimenting with our craft, and pushing our work forward by striving to be creative. Whether it is by learning new light or camera techniques or simply styling a background with dot stickers. It’s all about thinking outside the box and providing your clients with fresh ideas that will wow their audiences!
