SIMPLE WAYS TO STYLE YOUR NEXT PHOTOSHOOT WITH SEAMLESS PAPER!
One of the greatest challenges that we encounter as studio photographers is providing our clients with a wide range of options while minimizing time and financial investments and time assembling different sets during a session. An effective technique I employ to elevate my sessions is leveraging colors and my reliable collection of seamless paper.
When photographing my clients, my ultimate goal is to ensure their pictures have impact, captivate the audience’s attention, and remain memorable. While gray backgrounds are commonly associated with headshots and branding sessions, they may not suffice if you desire to stand out. Instead, I highly recommend incorporating your brand colors into the photo session or experimenting with diverse color palettes.
Over the years, I have honed my skill in utilizing color to create a powerful impact, and I have discovered that the simplest, quickest, and most cost-effective approach involves creating a color palette based on my clients’ outfits and the seamless paper.
LAYERING
COLORS
Incorporating multiple layers of seamless papers can significantly enhance the visual appeal of your upcoming photoshoot. Selecting two or three colors that harmonize well with your clients’ clothing is essential. By dedicating just a few minutes, you can effortlessly create a distinct and enjoyable backdrop, effortlessly elevating the overall aesthetic of the session.
Over the years, I have consistently incorporated this technique into my back-to-school sessions, and it has proven to be a resounding success with my clients. The setup never fails to impress and captivate their attention. The vibrant and dynamic backdrop created by layering different seamless papers adds a playful and engaging element to the photos, making the back-to-school session truly memorable for both the clients and their families.
I have also successfully applied the same layering technique to personal brand sessions. By employing this approach, I have been able to create visually captivating and unique backgrounds that align with the individual’s personal brand and style. The layering of different seamless papers adds depth and interest to the images, making them stand out in a crowded online marketplace. Whether it’s a vibrant and energetic combination of colors or a more subtle and sophisticated blend, the layered seamless paper setup enhances the overall branding visuals and helps to communicate the client’s message effectively. This technique has proven to be a valuable tool in elevating personal brand sessions and leaving a lasting impression on both the clients and their target audience.
LAYERED
VERTICALLY
In the images I showed you before, you saw how I layered the seamless paper in a horizontal manner. However, the same effect can also be achieved by layering the paper vertically. This opens up a whole new realm of possibilities, as you have the freedom to decide how much of each color you wish to display within the frame. The sky and your creativity is the limit (well, also the amount of paper you have!).
As depicted in the image below, I opted to showcase only a small portion of the fuchsia seamless. Even this subtle inclusion had a remarkable impact, instantly injecting a burst of vibrancy and enhancing the overall appeal of the image. It brought a touch of pizzazz and served as a striking visual element that added balance and visual interest to the composition. This example demonstrates how even a small dose of a carefully chosen color can create a significant effect.
BLACK & WHITE.
An equally captivating layered effect, whether executed vertically or horizontally, can be achieved using black and white seamless papers. This technique adds a touch of class, elegance, and sophistication to the images, evoking a yin-yang effect. By skillfully manipulating light and shadow, you can further enhance the impact of this approach, introducing an additional element of visual intrigue. The interplay between the contrasting tones and the dynamic play of light and shadow adds depth, texture, and an undeniable allure to the photographs, elevating them to a whole new level of artistic expression. The result is a series of visually captivating and emotionally resonant images that leave a lasting impression on viewers.
COLOR BLOCK TABLETOP.
An additional highly effective use of seamless paper is utilizing it as a table cover to create a captivating color block effect on your set. To achieve this, it is crucial to select a harmonious color palette that complements your client’s clothing and props.
By carefully coordinating the colors between the seamless paper, client attire, and props, you can create a cohesive and visually appealing scene. This technique not only adds vibrancy and visual interest to your set but also enhances the overall aesthetic impact of the photographs. The color block effect created by the seamless paper table cover elevates the composition, making it visually dynamic and intriguing. By employing this method, you can create stunning and images that capture attention and convey a strong sense of style and artistic flair.
