21 Dec The Polar Express
Holidays are about being with love ones. I lost my best friend, the love of my life and the father of my daughter this year. I was terrified of facing these few days alone with my kids. But then I thought, it’s really up to me how they get to experience the holidays, and this year would set the mood for the ones to come. Growing up, I remember I loved Christmas. I still do! So, I decided to shake it off, and do everything in my power to make my kids to have the most magical holidays, regardless of the situation. Well, I’ve failed in one little thing… I refuse to wrap presents!
We’ve watched Christmas movies, we have been to the parks to enjoy the Holidays festivities, and we have been terrified at the crowds in the stores going crazy doing last minute shopping. I think they are getting in the Christmas Spirit.
While we were watching The Polar Express a few nights ago, my son asked me once again to do a picture of him with The Polar Express. He asked me for it last year, and we went to the Transportation Museum in NC to get a few pictures of trains to make a composite. But then, our world was shaken and I completely forgot about the picture. So, as soon as he asked me for it again I jumped to it! It was like one of those magical days when you do something and everything comes out exactly how you ambitioned it, in just one try and it became our Christmas Card this year.
