About 5 years ago when I fell in love with photography, I started searching online finding ways of learning everything I needed to become a photographer. That’s when I stumbled upon, at the time called, Kelby Training. Without even thinking twice, I got a membership and sat for hours and hours watching tutorials by Scott Kelby, Matt Kloskowski and Calvin Hollywood whose work completely blew me away. A few weeks after, I went to one Scott Kelby’s seminars and was in awe. I went ahead and bought the gear he recommended and made the commitment of “making it” as a photographer.
The road has had its up and downs but I wouldn’t change it for anything. Specially after going through a really hard time in my life at the beginning of this year and receiving all kind of support from the photography community. I’m so glad to be part of a group of fantastic artistic, talented people with huge hearts.
So, last month after being a KelbyOne fan girl and member for years and years, having a few pictures here and there featured on their magazine, being a guest blogger on Scott’s blog, I was invited to write an article for their magazine PhotoshopUser (say whaaaat?)
I wanted to write all about creating fun pictures of kids. It gave me the chance to show some of my tricks along with some of my favorite images I’ve created of my kids and the oportunity to create a couple of new ones.
At the end of the article we launched a contest for fellow KelbyOne members. We received so many great submissions and 2 days ago I had the hard job of choosing just one winner. The winner image was by the Talented Erika Thornes. A fantastic photographer based in San Diego, California, whose works has inspired so many. You can look at the winning image here. Isn’t it fabulous?
