Halloween has always been my favorite Holiday. I always love to create new images with my kids. This year, I challenged myself to create a couple of new images without having to spend money. I got my daughter to wear a dress she got last year, and with the magic of Photoshop, I transformed it into new character’s outfits.
Here’s last year Chess Queen Image
My challenge was to turn this dress into a Snow White dress, so I could make a composite with a witch image I shot in collaboration with the amazing makeup artist, Bray “lilmonsta” from LM Artistry. I started by removing the chess pieces from the dress so I could easily colorize it afterward.
Here was the result after a few hours of playing around with color and doing a complete Photoshop hair makeover to my little girl.
I was really pleased with the result and I went ahead and created the composite I had in mind with the previous shot Witch Image.
After posting the Before and After image of the dress makeover on Facebook, somebody commented that the dress could make a perfect Queen Of Hearts to, to which I replied: “Challenge Accepted”.
So I started the process again, this time with a different picture. I even added a new black part to the dress, and I was impressed it blended in perfectly.
After a few other details and perfecting the new hair makeover, this was the final image of “The Queen Of Hearts”.
My little girl got a couple of new pictures to remember her third Halloween and I didn’t have to spend a dime. I have to say, her wedding photo slideshow is going to be out of this world!
So to keep the Halloween magic going I decided to take a third picture, but this time it was with a fabulous 50’s waitress dress her aunt sewed for her.
But I wanted it a little bit more Halloweeny and what a better way to do it than turning her into the most adorable Zombie?
She eats your brain and steals your heart….
I’m sad this month is over but I’m looking forward to starting shooting Holiday Cards. Have a Happy Halloween and don’t forget to brush your teeth after eating all that candy…. Maybe a few squats and crunches would be beneficial too! lol!
