Goodbye February… You were great!

Goodbye February… You were great!

While January went by painfully slowly, February just flew by, and I didn’t get a chance to write any updates here.
So, after months of keeping the secret, finally, the secret is out. Elinchrom just released its new line of studio midrange studio flashes, the ELC 125 and ELC 500. I was contacted by Elinchrom last year, and they invited me to join them in their launching campaign. I have used Elinchrom products since 2011 or 2012, so obviously, I couldn’t say no to such a fantastic opportunity.
The new lights are a dream to use. I have used them in every single shot I have done in the last few months.

I was also honored to be featured in TetherTools Insight + Inspiration series guide about Composite Photography. TetherTool products are an essential part of my workflow, and I am so happy I got to work with them in this project.

In my column, Shortcut City, in Photoshop User Magazine, I wrote the third and last part of my Photoshop Composite series, The Anatomy of a Photoshop Composite. It was so much fun to gather the most used photoshop shortcuts while making composites and showing you my techniques at the same time. You can read the whole article here

I also reviewed the Eizo Color Edge CG279X Monitor and PeakDesign Everyday Bags V2 in the magazine! go check them out!

Personal Branding sessions have become one of my favorite sessions. In February, I did a series of fun branding images for Rachel. She’s a coffee lover and has a fantastic sense of humor. Here are some of the images we captured, of course, I used the new Elinchrom ELC 500 & ELC 125 to shoot these!

Some of you may know my involvement with Platypod in the last couple of years. We have been very busy with the launch of the Kickstarter new Platyball, an amazing ballhead that is shaking the industry! It’s been a HUGE success! we have two more weeks left on the Kickstarter. Don’t miss out!

Talking about the Platyball… Frederick Van Johnson invited me and Shiv Verma to talk about the product in an episode of This Week in Photo. You can check it out below.

If you are undecided on whether to get the gray or the red one, get the “Gilmar Smith Red” one, also known as The Platyball Elite.

So, that was a quick resume of my February, hoping everybody has a wonderful March!
