A Photography Challenge.

Yesterday was one of the most amazing days of my life. It was the release of Cropped, a new photography show Produced by KelbyOne which I happen to be the host.

But there is a lot more to it! Let me tell you the whole story. In the wee hours of July 7th, 2018, while I was staring at the ceiling trying to sleep, I came up with an idea for a fun photography competition. My head kept spinning around with ideas and I had the crazy urge to make it happen. That same day after getting a couple of hours of sleep I went ahead and texted Kalebra Kelby (KelbyOne Co-Founder) to tell her about this show which she replied, “I think you’re into something” and told me to call the office to set up a meeting with her and Scott Kelby to go over the details of my crazy midnight idea.

Fast-forwarding a couple of weeks, I’m driving to KelbyOne studios to meet with Kalebra and Scott, just happy and thankful to have the opportunity to pitch my idea to them. I had no expectations, I was just over the moon to be heard. But to my surprise, after the meeting is over, Scott tells me to go with him and talk about it with the production team to see how and when we were going to film the show. WOW!

Time passed and I found myself in the studio with a dream production team and two amazing photographers as contestants. Here I am, hosting my own show that is being produced by the company I learned photography from! (MIND-BLOWING!)

It was more than I could have ever dreamed about and the experience gave me the confidence to believe in myself and my ideas.

So, what is the show about? Cropped is a photography competition. Two photographers are given two different challenges during the show. Each contestant has 5 minutes to set up and 5 minutes to shoot each challenge and 20 minutes to retouch each picture.

The challenges are picked by the production team and host (me). The goal is to see the creative approach of every photographer and see they perform under pressure. It is meant to be fun and educational.

I have always been fascinated how each artist have a peculiar way to approach things and this show gives all the insight of each contestant’s creative genius.

Yesterday, we were able to share with you that lovely show we called CROPPED with two amazing talented contestants and GOSH! how I love reading all of your sweet amazing messages of support.
