31 Dec Birthday Photoshoot with a huge cupcake!
Some of my favorite shots in my portfolio are the ones with really bright colors and a sense of joy. So, when Stephanie, my client, contacted me a few weeks ago asking me to shoot some pictures for her birthday, I right away envisioned the shoot with really bright colors.
The shoot she hired me to do, which I will be sharing here on a further date, was nothing like I had in mind. Her concept was amazing, the pictures came out phenomenal, and I cannot wait to share them with you. But, as a creative, I really needed to get the shot I had envisioned in my mind. So while we were shooting, before she changed outfits, I asked her to pose really quickly for me on front of a piece of red seamless that I quickly taped on the wall (I didn’t want to waste any time putting the whole roll on a stand), and I handed her a huge cupcake I brought from the prop shop. In less than five minutes I grabbed these shots and we were both so happy I did!
Here’s my light set up.
I shot these with my Nikon Z7 with the 24-70mm f/4 Z mount lens and two Elinchrom strobes. My main light was a big Octa on camera right and a small deep octa in front of my subject in a low angle for fill.
I really love how these came out!
